Alleweders & Cab-Bikes

Flevo Alleweder, Alligt Alleweder, and three Cab-Bikes. We got these together at the First Midwest Velomobile Rally September 5, 2003. David Eggleston of Texas is manufacturing [url=http://www.velomobileusa.com/]Alleweders in the U.S.[/url] The VelomobileUSA website [url=http://www.velomobileusa.com/products.html]compares the Flevobike and Alligt versions[/url] both of which are available there.

The C-Alleweder (red, center) and a Mango (red, right) are similar in appearance, but the Mango has a higher headrest. Most of the other velomobiles here are Quests, with two Cab-Bikes and a blue Versatile (just the tail visible) providing some diversity. A Greenspeed GTO is in the foreground.

Leaving Giessen. Here, we had to wait for a group that had been delayed by traffic lights. A couple of Mangos (red and yellow with open wheelwells) on the far left, then several Quests, a Leiba, and at least 5 Cab-Bikes, including the Speedster in the foreground.

Leitra, FAW, & Cab-Bike

Velomobile history on view. The Flevo Alleweder and the Leitra represent the oldest modern velomobile designs. The Leitra dates to 1979-1980 and the Alleweder was first developed in the late 1980's and first sold in 1992.
